What is this?

Football GOATs Club is a voting tournament app for football's "greatest of all time" debate. We don't pick the GOAT · every visitor does. Each tournament randomly draws 32 contenders, you swipe or tap your way through a group stage and knockouts, and the winner you crown adds points to a shared global leaderboard.

The argument never ends. The data does.

What can I vote on?

Five contests, each with 32 contenders, each fully independent:

How does the scoring work?

When you crown a champion, points get added to that team or player's leaderboard total based on how far they got in your tournament:

Points accumulate across every tournament played by every visitor in the world. Over time, the leaderboard sharpens around the entries the football world genuinely rates highest.

How are the groups drawn?

Randomly, every single time you play. No two tournaments use the same bracket. You might draw Pelé against Maradona in Group A, or have them both make it to the Final · the swing is part of the fun.

Do I need an account?

No. You can play immediately, no email or sign-up. We auto-generate a nickname stored in your browser so your runs can be grouped together. Clear your browser data and you'll get a fresh nickname.

Where does the data live?

All tournament results live in a Supabase Postgres database. The leaderboards are computed live from completed tournaments · nothing is faked or filtered.

Can I suggest a new contest?

Yes · drop a line via the contact below. Most-requested contests get added to the live site.

FAQ

Is this affiliated with FIFA, the Premier League, or any official body?
No. Football GOATs Club is an independent fan project.

Can I share my champion?
Yes · every Final has WhatsApp and copy-link share buttons. The shared link generates a preview card showing the champion you crowned.

Why is my pick losing?
Every visitor's vote counts equally. If the world disagrees with you, take it as a sign to play more tournaments and try to swing the totals.
